Cheap flights. Our name says it all. First and foremost, we are all about providing a fast and easy–to–use way for you to find cheap flights. And there’s no other website quite like us in the US online travel market these days.

We’re not travel agents and we don’t take your money (that’s right, put it back). You might argue that we’re so original we haven’t quite got a name for what we do best. So, take your pick; from price comparison site, deals publisher, travel search engine or flights aggregator. But whatever you call us, and believe us, we discuss it enough in the office, we provide the same function.

Originally a British company, founded in 1996, we’ve staffed our US office in Boston with a team of travel and internet professionals who are passionate about airfare deals and whose mission is to bring you the best flight deals we can find.

When we launched Cheapflights in the US, some folks said we were too late, we’d missed the boat, plane, that it was impossible to launch a successful site in the US online travel market in 2003.

Today, we are in the top 15 of US online travel websites (according to Hitwise) with a goal to be in the top 5 before long. Bargain hunters in the US have thankfully come–in droves. What we lack in advertising spend we make up for in passion and drive. And, as a private company, funded out of cash flow; we are lean, mean, and hungry — but still friendly, actually!

So how do we work for you when you come to Cheapflights.com? If you want to book a flight – we’re your first port of call. Think of us a bit like a dating agency – but without the risk of wining and dining a complete dud. You tell us where you want to go and we match you up with the best people to fly you there. We are independent and list deals from everyone from online travel agents like Cheap Tickets & Travelocity, to specialists like 1800 Fly Europe, or even very small, specialized, telephone–only agents who are hard to locate. So you get to pick the best date, oops, deals and we’ll tell you where to buy them.

We've been around for a while for starters. Cheapflights is a veritable oracle of the online travel world. In 1996, eminent travel journalist John Hatt became frustrated with the limited choices for booking flights available with the current media, thought, “what the heck” and threw his own hat into the ring. He started Cheapflights in his attic, with the aim of utilizing the internet to easily provide consumers with info that previously was not available.

So with more than ten years of experience behind us, we know what we’re doing. Not that we’re interested in resting on our laurels – we’re constantly working on ways to improve our site and bring you new products that we know can be useful.
