We are fed up with narrowly focused, inherently biased travel websites. At Kayak we think both consumers and travel marketers deserve better. How we make money.

Kayak makes money when people click onto advertising on our website. Plus, we make money when people click on the results from our travel partners like airlines, hotels and rental car companies. This is a revenue model (for all of you MBAs) similar to that of Google. It’s remarkable that many people believe that our model is an improvement over Google’s because we actually get paid for advertising and results.

The bottom line for consumers, however, is that we are not trying to sell you anything. We give you objective, comprehensive travel information to use as you want. Then, you select the travel products you want to buy and you decide where to buy them.
