Smarter Travel is a great source for many of your travel and information needs. This travel search engine is much like the travel section of a newspaper, they include updated news and information, weather reports, a currency converter, travel guides and cruising information.

Unfortunately, we found Smarter Travel’s booking features to be its major downfall. There are few options to narrow your search; additionally, Smarter Travel doesn’t show you the prices for the various travel sites it searches. It just gives you a short list of travel sites that produced the best results. Smarter Travel does not include the airlines in it’s search only online travel sites like Expedia, Travelocity and Orbitz.

Since Smarter Travel is not a travel agent, it does not take money. All payments and fares are redirected to its affiliate travel sites.

Smarter Travel is a good place to start if you are planning a trip. It is especially useful when learning about the places you’ll be vacationing or would like to.
